Businesses & Hobbies’ first patch is a big one

The reception to the latest Sims 4 expansion, Businesses & Hobbies, has been fairly positive. Which is to be expected with the suite of changes and new mechanics it brings! But everything needs improvement, so here’s some of the top quality-of-life fixes for Businesses & Hobbies that have just been released.

In General

To start, for those simply using this expansion and the base game, you can expect Sims to now be paid hourly (commensurate with skill level) for Paid Mentoring regardless of what packs you own.

Meanwhile, more importantly the Burglar will now no longer try to make off with items that can’t be readded to your household inventory; such as toilet stalls. And that pesky fixed camera for bracelets in create-a-Sim has also been removed to let you customise more freely!

One more thing

Now I don’t want to bore you with the entire list of bugfixes and other changes that are being made in this latest patch. Considering that many of them were pointed out by the good folks on the EA forum, a lot of them are just minor issues to boot.

But, there are some more notable ones! So with that in mind, here’s a whistle-stop tour of some of the more important changes:

  • Mysterious glowing lights around Nordhaven train station have been removed.
  • Sims won’t be able to enter your business lot after you’re closed for the night.
  • Ghosts won’t visit your business; Unless that is you set them as a Preferred or Required customer under the Occult Customer Target Category.

But, as I said this is only a small sampling of the changes that’ve been made, and there’re quite a few more listed. So if any of the issues listed here, or on the bugfix list itself, have been annoying you then maybe now’s the time to give Businesses & Hobbies one more chance?
