One of the many things we have to look forward to from the Sim Your Summer season is a shiny new Sims-themed board game. Yes, The Sims are finally breaking loose from our screens and making it to the tabletop this July. Or, if you were a lucky attendee of the UK Games Expo 2025, you might’ve already had a run-in with those little analogue plumbobs.
The UK Games Expo is a haven for board game and tabletop enthusiasts. Each year, there are exhibits from tonnes of different game manufacturers showing off their creations. Among these exhibitors was Goliath Games, who are creating The Sims board game, offering attendees the chance to try it out ahead of its public release.

Images of the board game hit r/TheSims fast. One displayed sliding Needs trackers, Aspiration cards, property cards, and a spread from an instruction booklet explaining key game mechanics.

It looks like when you take a turn, you have the option of going home or travelling. Going home lets you raise your Needs and swap Aspiration cards. Travelling seems to let you move and perform actions depending on what cards you draw, lowering your Needs simultaneously.
Other images were also shared to The Sims Community, displaying a huge array of cards, cute plastic plumbob counters, and a movable map-like board. The cards are mostly references to things in The Sims 4. Some items you can spot include the Voidcritter Game from Parenthood, and a Wishing Well from Romantic Garden Stuff.
As you might’ve guessed by now, there’s references in the board game to a huge amount of official DLC, like aspirations from Game Packs and Lots from Expansion Packs. They’re each noted with a little icon showing which pack they’re associated with. The game components also mostly seem to track with the leaked images shared around the net previously.
Content creator Meeple_University (Stella Jahja) also shared an early look at the board game. Jahja shared a video, mentioning that the game revolves around earning points by collecting cards matching different icons.
We don’t have a firm release date yet, but the current roadmap for The Sims says to look out for it this July.
