The Sims 4 team are turning to their loyal fans and players for input on the future of the game, with a recent focus on improving the likes of base game animations. This has involved the creation of the very first Sims 4 Animation Survey, in which users could fill out a questionnaire aimed at the average player, looking for opinions on animation quality.
This Animation Survey was available for players to contribute towards through a unique link, though this has since closed for further submissions.
The Sims 4 First Animation Survey Details
Questions within this survey targeted a range of different variables. This includes opinions on whether animations reflect the unique personalities of player Sims, how satisfied they are with the standard of current animations, their favourite animations, and suggestions for what changes players would like to see.
For each answer, participants are encouraged to give descriptive feedback that states their opinion honestly, whilst also giving actionable feedback about how new improvements could be implemented.
Following this, players were shown a range of random graphics showcasing certain in-game animations, and asked to rate them based on their opinions. These animations included actions such as scrubbing sinks and using a phone, as well as emotional animations such as embarrassment or responding to sadness.
It is great news to see The Sims 4 getting players involved in providing feedback for the future of the game. On top of this, animations are definitely an area that could receive some modern improvements, as they have generally had mixed opinions from players for a while now.
This was only further highlighted when InZoi was released, as this title utilises much more modern, realistic graphics. Ever since players were given access to the game, it has drawn nonstop comparisons to The Sims as the next potential big competitor in the life-sim space as beta development continues. For this reason, the idea of Sims 4 animations gaining some love and care in a future update would, without a doubt, be a huge highlight and bring a new breath of life to some areas that fall flat.
