New LGBTQIA+ pride range added to Sims 4 base game, more free content teased

Two Sims pillow fighting in a pride-themed bedroom wearing pride-themed outfits. A new progress flag collage from the update is in the background, along with the knitted nonbinary flag. A trans flag is under the window. The bed is rainbow coloured. The two Sims are wearing pride themed shirts, shorts, and socks.

Start updating your games! 12 shiny new items celebrating LGBTQIA+ pride have been added for free through a recent Base Game update. In my opinion, it’s worth grabbing it just for the rainbow leopard gallery wall alone.

Create-A-Sim now has more ways of sharing your Sim’s pride with new makeup looks, a tattoo, and a bunch of flag-themed clothing. Similarly, Buy Mode also has a few new items, including two new beds and a tonne of fresh wall decor like tapestries, collages, and shelving.

A large and varied community

Each item comes in a diverse range of different swatches to help represent as much of the community – and your Sims – as possible. Just a few of the flags in the trailer include:

  • Lesbian
  • Gay
  • Bisexual
  • Transgender
  • Nonbinary
  • Two-spirit
  • Genderqueer
  • Pansexual
  • Asexual

And more. Previous updates including LGBTQIA+ pride items have included a wide range of swatches, too. Back in 2022, we were treated to a free pride flag, which has since been updated with a few extra designs. This update also helps to organise those swatches by splitting them up into three separate items.

The update came as a surprise on April 2nd 2025, just a couple of days after Trans Day of Visibility. Notably, the trailer included a pastel-coloured apartment decked out in the colours of the transgender flag. Later on, the new Burst of Pride single-bed was shown off in a sleek nonbinary-themed bedroom.

More free updates to come

Maxis announced the new content through The Sims’ official social media accounts as soon as it became available. As if one set of new items isn’t exciting enough, they’ve also made it clear that there’s more to come, describing the Show Your Pride Everyday collection as “just one of the free content releases” coming in 2025.

There’s no sign yet of what the next set of free content will include, when it’s coming, or how much of it we can expect to see this year. Considering that this drop was a total surprise, there’s a good chance that we’ll be taken off guard again next time.

The new items are available immediately. You just need to update your game, connect to the internet, and turn Sims Deliveries on.
