The Sims 4 is an ever-evolving video game with new content through updates and expansion packs. However, The Sims 4 is no stranger to its fair share of issues, such as game-breaking gameplay problems and pesky bugs. Thankfully, many of these issues are remedied over time by the dev team through various patches and quick fixes. As of April 29, 2025, The Sims has released a new set of patch notes, fixing another series of problems.
The Sims 4 Patch Notes – April 29, 2025
Base Game
- [EA Forums] When Teenage Sims age up to young adults they will get the option of a third Trait.
- [EA Forums] Sims will no longer become unresponsive, and the game will no longer freeze in the save menu when multiple ghosts are in the household.
- [EA Forums] Plants which are growing in the Garden Planter Box, Hand Fashioned Planter Box, Mounded In-Ground Garden Patch, and In-Ground Garden Patch can be watered successfully.
- The dress (yfBody_SDX037DressAline) in Create a Sim no longer has a visible seam when paired with certain shoes.
- Fixed an issue for Mac where the game became unresponsive while travelling to the Library or Nightclub in Willow Creek.
High School Years
- [EA Forums] High school event tasks will now properly appear when sending multiple teens to school.
- [EA Forums] After shaving to preferred length, arm hair will now update appropriately.
- [EA Forums] Sims are now able to complete the Chess Fair puzzle.
Life and Death
- [EA Forums] Sims with certain Reward Traits can now go through rebirth without any Simulation errors and are taken to Create a Sim as expected.
- [EA Forums] Gold rays will only appear for the Occult picker in the Create a Sim UI the first time it is opened/viewed.
Businesses and Hobbies
- Customers who are Practicing Tattooing will now focus on the task at hand, rather than swapping practice partners back and forth.
- Small Business Employee is no longer a valid autonomous target for the Practice Tattooing customer rule.
- Employee Sim working at multiple Small Businesses will now change to the correct employee uniform when the second business is opened after closing the first.
- Sims who own their own Small Business will now change into the correct uniform when working as an Employee at a Household member’s Small Business.
- The “Hire an Employee” goal of the “Running a Small Business” Discovery Quest will now complete when the Employee is hired via the UI as well as via the social interaction.
- Fixed an issue that caused a missing icon to appear when selling a business.
- Burglar sack geometry will no longer appear twisted when animating.
- Sims instructed to clean will no longer attempt to wash up their Cotton Candy or Swirl Lollies in the sink and will pop them straight in the trash instead.
- Updated a missing color swatch for The Creator’s Counter.
- Updated missing color swatches for the paintings in the Trashley Certified Art Collection.
- The “Ask to Mentor” interaction now has the appropriate skill name listed in the pie menu.
- Unfinished pottery will no longer spoil.
- Cooked and Baked food items will now show the ‘for sale’ visual effect when placed on Retail Displays.
- Trashley Reelpearson has been reprimanded for littering and has promised to stop leaving their cotton candy on the floor all over Iverstad.
- Creating and preparing family recipes now support the Simple Living Lot Challenge.
- The cost to create and prepare a family recipe is now accurate when Sims have ingredients in their inventory.
- Sims who have not checked in to a Small Business can now freely use items in their own Inventory.
- When checking in together with a group, the entry fee is now calculated correctly.
- Fixed an issue where the “Confirm” button could be greyed out, despite having an object selected, when adding items to the Mystical Moonlight Crystal Grid from Crystal Creations or any of the Retail Displays from Businesses and Hobbies via the pie menu interaction.
Vampires
- [EA Forums] Child Sims with Vampire Eyes will now stay instead of reverting to normal Sim eyes.
Secret Sanctuary
- Addressed pixelation that was occurring on the green variation of the dress (yfBody_SP59Dress).
