Well, well, it’s only Tuesday and we’ve already got some good news! Well, good news if you’re a devout fan of the MySims mini-series (and why wouldn’t you be?). That’s because MySims and MySims Kingdom are both set to make their way to mobile on November 6th courtesy of Apple Arcade!
An Apple a day
Yes, as reported by our friends over at PocketGamer.com (and someone who sounds suspiciously like me), you’ll soon be able to play MySims on mobile. However, there is a catch, as you’ll need to be a subscriber to the Apple Arcade service. Oh, and if you’re on Android then you’re out of luck.
For those not in the know, Apple Arcade is – of course – a subscription gaming service that lets you play a variety of releases not available anywhere else. They’ve had plenty of exclusives over the years, so it’s no surprise that they managed to snatch up MySims to add to their lineup.
MySims on mobile
There’s not much else to say beyond that! It’s good news, but there’s no indication yet whether or not we’ll see more arrive on mobile from The Sims now or whether this is a one-off. However, it’s also not the first time we’ve seen MySims on mobile either.
Yes, for your brief history lesson way back in 2008 the already portable MySims was adapted for early mobile phones. It was a very, let’s say primitive take, but at the same time it did an admirable job trying to bring as many of the features as possible to handheld.
With Project Rene shaping up to be a major new epoch in The Sims franchise I think the time is probably right to take another look at mobile and how it’s influenced the series. And more than likely how it’ll influence the series for years to come.
