While we often gripe about The Sims 4 and some of the issues it’s had, I think it’s fair to say that the amount of festivals is rather respectable. But, with that amount also comes frustration in keeping track of them and knowing what’s coming up.
Fortunately, there’s now a fan-made cheat sheet to help you keep up with all The Sims 4 festivals.
Get your bus-pass ready
Aside from being extremely useful, Reddit user fluffhq’s festival cheat sheet also reminds us of some rather funny oddities in the festivals system. For one, the fact that protests are all scheduled. But also the sheer number of them, with four more arriving in Adventure Awaits with Gibbi Point.
Now we’re not about to just repost it here (you’ll have to go check out their post for that), but suffice it to say this is a very comprehensive cheat-sheet. Showing all the dates, times, and names for each festival to let you plan things out a bit more easily.
Said one Simmer: “This is awesome! The calendar is a mess when you’re looking for a specific festival. It needs an overhaul ASAP.”
Simmers are even finding out about festivals they didn’t know existed – for years!
“There’s a turtle hatching event? I’ve owned that pack for YEARS and never knew that!” said one player.
Added another: “Sulani has all those events?! I’ve never seen them in my gameplay.”
And Iwan’s talking about bloat again…
Alright, now let me get on my soapbox for just a minute.
A few players agreed with me, seeming exhausted by the amount of festivals in the game. It starts to get overwhelming, even intimidating.
While it’s not the worst issue, I think it’s worth pointing out that The Sims 4 could definitely use an official feature for more effective planning. The Calendar is pretty comprehensive (even if it was originally a seasons original), but as the cheat sheet shows, it’s not always the most convenient for people.
I think in this case, redundancy is the better option to awkwardness. Something like an in-game mini-calendar, for example, that you can quickly use to flag up favourited events or festivals would help, as seen with the sheet. Could be something for modders to consider, or better yet Maxis themselves.
Either way, this cheat sheet is incredibly useful. But if there’s in-game stuff you would rather tweak why not check out our guide to getting started modding The Sims 4?
