9 best Halloween decor custom content for The Sims 4

A Sim rising up from a coffin while a Pancakes looks shocked in Ravenwood in The Sims 4: Life & Death.

Planning on spending Halloween gaming? The Sims 4 might actually be a surprisingly good bet for getting into the spirit of things. With the right custom content, you can throw a themed party that’ll be the talk of Willow Creek for weeks to come.

Although you can find a lot of fun festive items with the right Expansions or Stuff Packs, playing The Sims 4 vanilla can make it pretty tough to know how to decorate for the holidays. Y’know, without just starting to kill Sims and use their graves as decorations.

Thankfully, there’s a lot of great custom content out there that you can use to deck out your builds. Here are a few of my favourites.

Glinda Halloween Main Objects

This set of items from Onxyium is an adorable selection of themed decor, including end tables, lanterns, and pillows. My personal favourite is the very Animal Crossing-coded armchair, which makes your Sims look like they’re cosying up in half a pumpkin.

Some of the items could easily double up for non-Halloween-themed builds as well, if you tend to find yourself playing with Spellcasters much. The spellbook pillow, for example, would fit right into any home in Glimmerbrook, for example.

Till death do us part? – Dining Room

SIMcredible’s cute and creepy skeleton decor set is sure to make Bonehilda feel right at home.

It comes with eight different items, including Mr. and Mrs. Skeleton, a dining set, and a rather frightful pile of bones that are sure to keep any unwanted trick-or-treaters away from your home.

This decor set definitely leans into the gothic, antique vibe, making it a strong choice for sympathetic decor in Ravenwood or Forgotten Hollow. The fireplace is particularly imposing, complete with some interesting and definitely-not-cursed emblems on it.

Halloween Horror Movie Night Collection

Prefer your Halloween decorations cute and cosy? In that case, Riptidecc‘s Halloween Horror Movie Night Collection is a great pick. This collection comes with some themed clutter, like jack-o-lantern popcorn buckets and horror movie DVD cases, along with some larger pieces.

The set also comes complete with a couple of coffin-shaped shelves in different sizes, meaning you’ll definitely have enough places to put your clutter. And, the same creator has some other festive item sets, like the Witching Hour Dining Set and the Fright Night Collection.

Graveyard Planters

This time of year isn’t all about costumes and horror films – it’s also about remembering lost loved ones and ancestors.

Dennerian’s graveyard planters are a slick, interactive way of sprucing up your legacy family’s plot, or the local cemetery if you have Life & Death. You can use these resting places as planters for growing harvestables, or Enchanted By Nature’s growing houseplants

MinimalSIM – Salt Box Halloween

Credit: Sim_Man123

Sim_Man123’s minimalist take on Halloween decor is a solid choice for modern builds that you want to add a little festive flair to. This set of seven items consists of a tasteful selection of black-and-white clutter, ranging from scented candles to floral arrangements and, of course, pumpkins.

My favourite item in the set is the geometric crow model, which I can see myself keeping in my Sims’ homes year-round, long after Halloween has come and gone.

If you like going all out for Halloween, then you’re going to want to get yourself a couple of big bundles of custom content. Severinka_ comes in clutch for that, with a collection of 14 different types of Halloween decorations.

The wide array of pumpkins and the cute ghost statue caught my eye in this set as being solid choices for a porch display or table centrepiece. The pumpkins come in a few different shapes, sizes, colours, and patterns, meaning you can easily mix up your display without repeating items too often.

Speaking of decorating tables, Soloriya’s set of cute and kitsch Halloween treats could complete any Halloween feast. This set of 11 items is full of tasty-looking candy corn cakes and adorable ghost candies, but the real showstopper is the stack of mischievous, googly-eyed pancakes.

Halloween Dinner

Not finished filling your table with treats yet? Kardofe’s Halloween collection comes with loads of different cute treats that feel like a throwback to children’s parties in the 2000s in the best possible way.

This nostalgic set has a bright orange, purple, and green colour palette. Designed with children’s parties in mind, I can see these items completing a Halloween party over at Camp Gibbi Gibbi with no problem at all.

Halloween Porch Clutter Set

In case you’re still not cluttered out, Comiko’s collection of cottagecore-inspired Halloween decor is all set for decorating hay bale mazes and vegetable patches alike. As well as coming with a set of pumpkins (don’t worry, unlike Cottage Living’s oversized crops these ones won’t rot), it also comes with a collection of upturned crates you can slot items into.
