A recent leak on X (previously Twitter) has shone a light on the next Expansion Pack for The Sims 4 — and it could be a huge one.
A now-deleted post on the platform stated that the life sim’s next Expansion Pack is titled Adventure Awaits. Allegedly, the pack will be released on October 2nd, with a trailer landing on September 4th. It comes as a part of a roadmap — as is usually the case — with other content. This could include Kits, base game updates, and an event.
Some of the details surrounding the leak were shared by an account that appears to have been deleted altogether. Other details were also shared by CBXSims on X, which gave us a look at the full potential roadmap.
Leaks keep coming, but any word from EA awaits
These leaks haven’t been confirmed yet by EA or Maxis. We also haven’t heard anything from Anadius yet, who frequently shares information about upcoming and unreleased Sims content. Until we hear any kind of official word, keep in mind that this is all subject to change.
Other alleged leaks shared on X a couple of months ago provided a little more information about the new Pack. These leaks suggest that Adventure Awaits will be a vacation-themed pack “with a twist,” focusing on family vacations and a new lot type.
The leak also suggested that Adventure Awaits will give us the option of customising vacations. This could use a similar system to holidays, funerals, weddings, and dates. It’s a little difficult to picture how goaled events would work over a span of several days, though, so it waits to be seen.
What we want from the next Sims 4 Expansion Pack
So, let’s say that the rumours are true, and that Expansion Pack 20 does turn out to be Adventures Await – which I very much so hope is the case, personally. What new features do we hope to see?
Hotels. We want hotels back.
Hotels, base camps, and resorts have found their way into every previous generation of The Sims so far. The Sims 4 is really the odd one out here, despite having two vacation-oriented Game Packs already. Outdoor Retreat and Jungle Adventure both brought a lot to The Sims 4 by bringing us tents and the Rental lot type. But, there’s really no beating pillow mints and room service, and (some) of my Sims deserve the best.
Running your own hotel, if possible, would be even more fun. It’s maybe riffing a little hard on Businesses & Hobbies and For Rent, but that just means that some of the features are already basically developed. They would just need a few tweaks to fit the new lot type, considering we already have multipurpose properties — even if they don’t work all that well yet.
It’s not all about gameplay, either. Being able to build a hotel from scratch would be a great addition. Imagine all the quirky, themed rooms you could build using the bizarre furniture we’ve accumulated over the past decade?
