Well, it’s a Monday so that means it’s time for some light news to ease us into the week. So with that in mind, why don’t we talk about a couple in Russia who broke up their three year-long relationship over The Sims 4.
Just in case you thought your life was going badly.
99 problems and the Sims isn’t one
I’ll give you the cliffnotes version since there isn’t much to be said about this other than that above sentence. According to bastion of journalism the Daily Star (I know, I know, glass houses) this situation saw a woman named Katya break up with her boyfriend Max.
The reason? He was making his in-game Sim, modelled on himself, flirt with other women. Apparently that was the last straw, causing Katya to leave. I mean, we’ve all been there. Probably.
No reports on whether he had the Lovestruck expansion to help with his escapades.
Big if true
Now, it should be mentioned the Daily Star isn’t exactly reliable reporting at the best of time. But I think we all know someone who takes the world of gaming a bit too seriously. Then again, Max doesn’t sound like the coolest guy, so maybe both these people were jerks.
Plus it’s Russia, and if you’re like me and grew up on the net around the late 2000s to early 2010s you know that the craziest stories tend to come out of that country.
Still, I feel like we should say that if you’re having difficulties with your significant other, and what’s stressing you out is what they do in The Sims 4 it’s probably better to sit down and try to deal with them maturely.
Or if you really do need to break it off, maybe you can relax by choosing to spend some time decorating your in-game house with the two new creator kits arriving later this year?
