With the reveal of The Sims 4’s Adventure Awaits Expansion Pack, the new custom venues feature has been uncovered for lots.
This is a new feature that enables players to assign helpful modifiers to that property, opening up new possibilities in their day-to-day gameplay. Let’s take a look at everything we know about these upcoming custom venues below!
Custom Venues in The Sims 4: What are they?
In The Sims 4, Custom Venues are a new, special kind of lot that operates somewhat similarly to the Small Business lots from Businesses & Hobbies. This property can be assigned to lots via build mode and will enable players to access modifiers, including staff uniforms, role assignments, activity scheduling, and more.
In other words, players have a lot more control over their spaces.
Furthermore, once you discover a custom venue setup that you find enjoyable, you can save this as a preset for future usage. Players can create a lot of different spaces used for hosting different activities, communities, or businesses. A few examples provided by the dev team have been listed below:
- Fitness Retreat
- Outdoor Kids Camp
- Romantic Competition
- Cooking Competition
- Cosy Bed and Breakfast
- Creativity Retreat
- Senior Living Community
- Sim Popularity Contest
How do Custom Venus work in The Sims 4?
The new scheduling system for custom venues in The Sims 4 supports both pre-made schedule templates and fully custom schedules, so players can choose to use what’s ready or build from scratch.
Players can choose when specific activities happen, define which Sims attend, and slot in multiple activities over the course of a day or week. Want a pool party at midday, yoga class in the morning, or maybe children’s story hour in the afternoon? You can do all of that via custom venues + schedule control.
You can assign Staff or Participant roles to Sims, or pick from a library of predefined roles. Then, players can also assign uniforms to each activity, for example. This helps customise how each venue functions and looks, and makes your world just that more interactive.
Cross-pack integration
Custom Venues will allow cross-pack features, enabling Simmers to mix content from other Expansion Packs that they own. A few samples have already been confirmed thus far:

- Island Living – Off-the-Grid Survival Competition
- Get Together + Parenthood – Child Care venue options
