The Sims 4 CC: 9 Best Kitchen Clutter Items

Three Sims in a cluttered kitchen. One is talking about food while two face him and listen. They're all wearing bright colours, and there's a kitchen counter between them covered in dishes and flowers.

Clutter can be one of the toughest things to get right while building in The Sims 4. Despite that, it’s super important to get it right if you want your homes to look loved and lived in. And, it’s a great way of getting your Sims’ personalities to shine through in their decor. Kitchen clutter is no different.

The Kitchen Clutter Kit has freshened up Buy Mode’s offerings when it comes to kitchens, but if the decorations they have on offer don’t fit your tastes, then you might find yourself a little stuck. Don’t worry, though – there are loads of other options out there to spruce up your kitchen cupboards, shelves, and coffee tables.

 Marble and Gold Coffee Set

Even the most sleek and chic kitchens need to look a little lived in. This modern coffee set-up looks perfect in cluttered kitchens or on your Sims’ coffee table. It also comes in a wide range of swatches, from sparkly brushed white marble to a kind of gold-on-black kintsugi vibe that would fit well with the new pottery from Businesses & Hobbies.

Something I really like about this set is that the tray has 31 slots for different items, and that it’s a totally mix-and-match affair. So, if your Sim prefers to enjoy their coffee as dark as midnight on a moonless night, you can sack off the cream jug for an extra mug or two. This modular approach is really fun for changing up the item from build to build, or for putting a little extra clutter around your kitchen off the tray itself.

Cosy, rustic vibes more your kind of thing? This custom item set will be way up your street. It comes complete with cutting boards, recipe books, breadboards (complete with bread, of course), an art print, and a cute little egg holder. I think these items would fit nicely into a coastal cottage in beachy Tartosa, or even into a farmhouse in Henford-on-Bagley or Chestnut Ridge.

Kitchen Herb Pots

No build in The Sims is complete without plants! These tiny little pots are the perfect kitchen companions. The set includes leafy ferns, shadow-loving spider plants, and some sweet little herbs that are reminiscent of mint or verbena. They come complete with earthy-looking terracotta pots and wooden planters, too, which can help to pull a room with natural accents together.

Kitchen Marie

This varied item set is great for giving some finishing touches to darker or neutral-toned kitchens. I love the realistic pour-over coffee maker, which I feel would look great on a kitchen island alongside a drinks tray or espresso maker. The woven bowls or pestle and mortar would also look fantastic in the home of a Foodie Sim or a chef, and just looking at the artisanal bread is making me ridiculously hungry. Can we get a breadmaker in The Sims 4 now, please?!

Modern Bar

Okay, this one is technically more than just kitchen clutter, but hear me out. The set comes with a bundle of three items – Modern Bar Drinks 1, 2, and 3 – alongside a bunch of cool furniture. The drinks bottles originally caught my eye as clutter for any nice open shelving, but I couldn’t choose which bottles to suggest. So, why not just grab the whole thing?

These items are packed with retro-modern charm and Don Lothario vibes, meaning they would work nicely alongside the Casanova Cave kit. The mirrored shelves are a particularly nice touch, and could add a lot of depth to smaller spaces.

Pink Pastels Kitchen Clutter Set

I personally can’t resist cute items in pastel colours. This set of 12 kitchen items includes another French press, a cookie jar, spices, pots, pans, and a whole bunch of other goodies. They also all come in eight different pastel swatches in both warm and cool tones, ranging from a minty green to toasty peach. The wall-hanging frying pans would look particularly fitting in tiny homes, thanks to its space-efficient design.

Decorative Built-In Oven

Now, I might be stretching the definition of clutter a bit far here, but this one seems too good to leave out. This stylish built-in oven may not be functional as an oven, but it does give your Sims the chance to flex on the fact that they can afford two whole cookers. Or something. It’s a great addition to kitchen cabinetry, and I think it would work well alongside the built-in and modular oven parts from the Dream Home Decorator Game Pack.

Americana Pie Safe

This is a total necessity for cluttered, maximalist, rustic, and/or cottagecore kitchens. Why? Because it offers a whopping 41 object slots for all of your clutter needs. It’s a cute spot to shove stacks of plates, cups, mugs, coffee pots, and whatever else you end up with while CC shopping. It comes in a few different shades, including a really nice dusky rose, ocean blue, and a deep teal colour.

Animal Crossing Plate

A different vibe from most of the other clutter I’ve included? Maybe. But, I’m a sucker for Animal Crossing, and I can’t resist including it. Video game-inspired decorations in The Sims 4 are a quirky, if slightly meta, way of adding some personality to your Sims’ homes, and there’s no need for their kitchens to be any different. This CC gives your Sims some plates and placemats fitting for a visit from Tom Nook himself.

You’re going to need to have Parenthood if you want this one to work. This is because it builds on the table settings feature in there.
