The Sims 4: 5 best mods to help your Sims celebrate Halloween

The Sims 4 has endless potential when it comes to the world of mods and CC. From implementing new functions and gameplay mechanics into your Sims world, or even just adding a whole new catalogue of gorgeous clothing, hairstyles, and household decorations, players have free rein to customise their runs.

October has rolled around again, bringing the spooky season back in full swing. Of course, Sims players are looking for ways in which they can celebrate Halloween not only in person, but also in their Sims universe.

We’ve rounded up five of the best Sims 4 mods that help you to do so, from trick-or-treating to horror-like holiday traditions.

Smashing Pumpkins Carving Station mod

The Smashing Pumpkins Carving Station is a Sims 4 mod that enables you to craft spooky Jack-o-Lanterns of various designs from pumpkins. In total, there are at least 10 different carving designs featuring concepts of ghosts, vampires, werewolves, witches, skeletons, haunted houses, and classic Jack-O-Lantern emotions.

Once complete, Jack-O-Lanterns can be placed around your household or buildings as functional light decorations. In addition to this, Sims who are passing by can view the Jack-O-Lantern to react in either laughter or scare – true Trick-or-Treat terror!

After three days, the Jack-O-Lanterns will begin to spoil, meaning you will either need to discard them around this time or sell them for profit prior to decay.

Trick-or-Treating mod

Batsandbabydoll’s Trick-or-Treat mod adds a new social interaction to the game that is perfect for the Halloween season. With this interaction, any sim that is at least the age of a child or older can approach other Sims to Trick-or-Treat, resulting in gaining a piece of candy or being shooed away.

In some cases, the Sim that you ask may even choose to bestow a trick with a silly prank! With the use of this mod, you can take your child Sims Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night, or even let your teenage Sim gather a group of friends and head out for the activity.

Horror Life mod

We all know it wouldn’t really be Halloween without spooky, horror influences making their rounds. Well, JellyPaw’s Horror Life mod for The Sims 4 adds a whole bunch of spooky, scary goodness to your Sims save file, all without the prerequisite of needing to own any other Game Packs.

The Horror Life mod adds several unique social interactions, horror/gore aspects, holiday traditions, a custom social menu, and more. Possibilities include discussing infamous murders, chattering about demons, claiming to be possessed, and custom scare club rules for the Spook a Sim holiday tradition, among other things.

Modern Witch mod

The Modern Witch mod is by the very same user responsible for the Horror Life mod, Jellypaws. In saying this, they can even go hand-in-hand together for some really fun overlap, resulting in the most possibilities for spooky, horror-inspired Halloween content in your Sims 4 game.

As the title suggests, Modern Witch adds a number of gameplay features that allow your Sims to live the lifestyle of a witch. You’ll be able to discover magic, threaten others with Hexes, decorate your spaces with witchy touches and Halloween decor, and research pagan religions.

Ellesimsworld has provided an adorable little Halloween-themed mini mod pad titled Spooky & Spice. This one offers something for both you and your Sims to enjoy, with a Tapestry your Sims can use to set up Halloween decorations, and a collection of cosmetic titles and loading screen changes for the player to enjoy.

This is quite the adorable little freebie, full of soft Halloween-ish colours and adorable seasonal illustrations. The lock screens include charming decals of the Grim Reaper, pumpkin spice lattes, spooky black cats, ghosts, pumpkins, skeletons, candles, and more.

The opening screen, on the other hand, features a softly illuminated scene with ghosts – perfect for really adding that Halloween vibe all throughout your game!
