Both The Sims 4 & Inzoi Gained End-of-April Patches – Which One Made a Bigger Impact?

Leading up to and after the release of InZoi, the game has been drastically compared to The Sims 4 as the best direct rival currently available for players to enjoy.
One of the biggest drawbacks and most common complaints InZoi received upon release was the lack of content around the worlds for players to enjoy – a key strength that The Sims 4 holds over the new competitor.

As InZoi does plan to offer more and more features further down the line, many have continued to watch out for any new patches and updates. Interestingly enough, both The Sims 4 and InZoi both released updates / patch notes on April 29, 2024. For a bit of fun, harmless competition, let’s take a comparison between the two and evaluate which patch has made a bigger update on the game.

The Sims 4 vs. InZoi April 29 Patch Notes – How Do They Compare?

First off, it’s important to note that TS4’s patch did not introduce any new features, while InZoi’s did. This includes new hair, clothing, build items, and changes to gameplay timers, such as hunger. However, The Sims 4 already has many more customisation options for Sims and builds in the base game, and tends to have smoother-running mechanics with the likes of timers for hunger and needs. As a result, they remain somewhat even in this case.

New Additions & Gameplay Features

InZoi continuing to add more base game customisation, items, and build capabilities is always a huge positive. In the case that InZoi eventually gets to the same level of The Sims 4 in this category, many more players are likely to become invested, and spend more time in InZoi as well as, or even instead of, the Sims. Once the games get to a healthy point of competition in which they can pretty much go par-for-par, it will be very interesting to see how things change in that space or if any additional competitors make an entrance.

Bug Fixes & Performance Issues Solved

When it comes to the amount of bug fixes and changes made in both sets of April 29 patch notes, InZois covers a bit of everything, fixing bugs from crashes to load issues, and a few in-game hiccups. The Sims 4, however, fixed numerous issues that had previously been reported and touched on in forums, as well as a long list of problems that have popped up following the addition of Businesses & Hobbies.

Right now it seems to be a case of The Sims 4 having more content = obviously, more bugs and issues to fix. But time shall tell as InZoi continues to make progressions and adds new content to level out the gap between The Sims in that area. For now, both patches are a sign that there is still much love from the community and that the devs are working hard to ensure their games are enjoyable as can be.
