As part of the ongoing The Sims 25th Birthday Celebrations, Electronic Arts have released further details on the huge content drops (and more) coming to The Sims FreePlay.
In addition to SimChase Season 83, ‘The One with the Coffee Shop’ and the new Live Event ‘My First Apartment’, we’ll also be getting a new Influence Island (Season 60!) in ‘Reality Island’.
The event, which runs from February 10th through to the 24th will send you off to a Reality-TV inspired Island challenge where you can win a bunch of fun gadgets inspired by The Sims’ year of release.
Below is the official description:
“It’s Y2K, and reality TV is really hot! Of course, your Sim has signed up, but can they win? Take a chill pill, get everyone on your side, and you’ll take home some of the most iconic items from the 2000s! Earn see-through phones, neon computers, tracksuits, and oversized glasses.”
Don’t forget, of course to also check in each day in order to collect each of the 25 free gifts that you can earn over the 25 days from the anniversary (February 4th) — while we’ve not seen the full extent of what’s on offer, based on the presence of cool stuff like ‘see-through phones’ I imagine they’re going to be really cool.
I don’t know about you, but I think that the ‘Reality Island’ theme actually fits the Influence Island series of events — which see your Sim placed on a remote island, away from home, in a Survivor-like setting — incredibly well. After all, Survivor is arguably one of the most famous reality TV challenge shows.
As a note, this is just one of the FreePlay 2000 events we’re getting, and they’re all looking great.
