With more 25th anniversary news on the horizon, we’ve already had a sneak peek at what we can expect in The Sims 4, thanks to some leaks that our sibling site The Sims Resource covered. It seems the next expansion pack is called Businesses & Hobbies and will introduce new ways for our Sims to work and enjoy their free time. Of course, there’s no official confirmation yet, but I expect that to come on February 6th to coincide with the Motherlode Season reveal.
So, what’s expected in The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies? Well, everything is pretty much speculation at the moment. However, I covered the Ouch! teaser trailer earlier today, which appeared to show that tattoo parlours are coming to the game. That could easily be tied to the Business & Hobbies expansion, providing more job options for our Sims.

Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack + Set Up Shop (bonus content if you buy early)
Got that info 8h ago but wanted more details. There's still nothing.
As with any leak like this, the community has voiced their opinions on what they’re hoping for. More career and hobby options were on top of most people’s wishlists. Why? Because you can never have too many choices when sending your Sims out into the big wide world, of course.
Businesses & Hobbies could introduce some introducing careers to The Sims 4
Other people are hoping for home-based businesses, removing the need for a separate retail lot. It’s a good idea and more reflective of how many small businesses get their start nowadays. Personally, I hope they’ll add the option to see a hobby turn from a pastime into a flourishing business. But maybe that’s fuelled by my increasingly unlikely goal of becoming a published author. Still, given that the expansion’s apparent title focuses on those two things, it’s not unreasonable to expect them to be linked.
If my estimations are correct, we won’t have to wait too long to learn exactly what’s involved. By the end of tomorrow, we’ll likely be back here reporting on all the (hopefully) glorious details.

For Stephen, the best way to escape the stresses and strains of real life is by helping his Sims battle through them. Do as I say, not as I do, my little friends.
