What’s the highest-paying job in The Sims 4?

A doctor unsurely tries to operate an MRI machine with a concerned patient inside.

They say that only two things in life are inevitable: death and taxes. And you need money for the latter. So how do you make the most Simoleons in The Sims 4? Well, the real fantasy is easily getting a job…

But the better question to ask what’s the highest-paying job in The Sims 4?

Choose your career path

Well, this was a tough one to research. So for simplicity’s sake we’ll focus on which has the highest potential earnings at their end point.

There’s a lot of answers floating around, but it seems the top picks are either Tech Guru or Military (introduced in StrangerVille) when you do a little Google-fu. But if you dig deeper, it gets a little more complicated.

The main issue? Each career, of course, has two separate paths. Military has the Officer Corps path, which leads you to Grand Marshal. Tech Guru, meanwhile, takes you to Start-Up Genius that offers a whopping 516 Simoleons an hour.

Good to be bad

But a little bit more digging also unearths the old Secret Agent career. And if you follow the Villain Branch path for that career you can end up as a Triple Agent. This is only a Simoleon shy of the Tech Guru path, at 515 per-hour.

Now, the fact this is an 11th level career rank (difficult to get to) would ordinarily make this a bit of a no-brainer. Tech Guru is often the most-cited as the highest-paying role for a reason after all.

But it’s worth noting exactly why Tech Guru takes the crown for highest-paying role. Both roles work 5 hour shifts at separate times. However, the Tech Guru works Sunday, Wednesday, Tuesday, and Saturday. Pretty rough hours in real-life, but in-game this means you’ll be raking in the dough on a much more consistent basis.

However obtuse earning cash can be, there’s a reason The Sims 4 has endured so long. And if you want to find out about those who’ve tried – or are trying- to dethrone them be sure to check out our list of notable Sims 4 competitors!
