Adventure Awaits has added a lot of new experiences to The Sims 4, and that includes kayaking!
Kayaking is a new way to increase your Sim’s fitness and fishing skills as well as traverse through the water. You’ll see kayaks of all colors on Gibbi Point, so get ready to paddle and try not to tip over!
Step 1: Buy what you need
You can head to the This Oar That Shop to purchase a kayak and paddle. There will be five kayaks available in plenty of colors, costing around 320 Simoleons.
There are even kayaks made for Kid Sims, so the entire family can get out on the water!
Step 2: Kayak interactions
When your Sim gets out onto the water, you can click on them and follow some of these interactions:
- Customize Stickers
- Exit Kayak
- Go Fishing
- Paddle Around
- Rename Kayak
- Set Favorite Water Vehicle
Keep in mind, you can’t fish if the kayak is moving. You don’t want to scare the fishies.
The stickers include Glow-In-the-Dark Jellyfish, Butterfly & Plumbird Paradise, Voidcritter Friends, Precious Gems, and Camper’s Delight.
Step 3: Fitness and Fishing
You can increase your Sim’s Fitness skill by kayaking. But you don’t need to be a fitness junkie out there. If there’s too much water resistance, you can stop in the middle of the water and try to increase their Fishing skills.
Step 4: Know your limitations
Where can you kayak you ask? You would not could not in a house, but you can kayak in shallow waters, deep waters, and even pools. Even if it’s raining out, you can take out a kayak. Talk about an adventure!
However, you can’t kayak in some bodies of water you’d think were very accessible, including Ravenwood. Maybe it’s the swampiness? Dunno. You can only kayak if you’re in Sulani from Island Living, Britechester from Discover University, Innisgreen from Business and Hobbies, and Gibbi Point from Adventure Awaits.
