Summer is heating up the world over, and whether you’re inside or outside I doubt you won’t be sat at your platform of choice come July 10th for the release of Enchanted by Nature. And better yet The Sims 4 is Planting Seeds of Enchantment with their new update! So here’s some of the highlights of what’s been included.
Inventory and Notebook improvements
Two overlooked but crucial aspects of The Sims 4 experience are getting a revamp as both the Inventory and Notebook see overhauls. You’ll have a host of new ways to sort items in your inventory by price, filter, crafted quality and even rarity. This applies to both the individual Sim’s inventories and containers such as fridges and bookcases. Spoiled food also sports a red background to make it easier to pick out and are automatically sorted to a spoiled stack.

Meanwhile, the notebook has gotten a refresh, no doubt prepping it for the addition of the new magic aspects and herbalism skill present in Enchanted by Nature. This latest update offers a new spacious layout for all manner of content, category pages, discovery badges to track your progress, a back button for easier navigation and direct access buttons to access household collections and Sim stats direct from the notebook.
Collectathon
Rounding out the UX improvements we’ve also got a refresh of the Sims household collections. The inventory button will animate when you have a new collection item, and the collection page now sports a badge to show you have new items. Collections themselves are also sorted into a new layout for easier viewing, and you can also sort collections by completion progress or name.
Finally, within specific collections you can also filter by rarity, name, recent, bonus items and missing. Ensuring you’ve got the best chance to keep your collection going!
Seeing right through you (and your plants)
Of course, there’s also a host of bugfixes and other tweaks that preps The Sims 4 for the upcoming launch of Enchanted by Nature. But one last major addition is none other than that of two new ways to revamp your home!

To start we’ve got glass walls that allow you to build conservatories and other see-through structures. Or simply enhance the openness of your Sim’s home. You can complement these with the debut of roof plants which allow you to- er,- place plants on a roof. You’ll be able to find these new decorations in ‘wall patterns’ and ‘outdoor plants’ respectively.
Phew, that’s quite a hefty update! And if you’re planning to complement it with a bit of custom content, why not make use of The Sims Resource’s new browser-based custom content viewer for ease of access and use!
