Camping in The Sims 4 has been a bit underwhelming since Outdoor Retreat doesn’t actually allow Sims to leave creature comforts behind and go full-on survivalist in the woods. For this reason, the expansion is not really a big hit with the Sims community.
Luckily, a YouTuber has figured out how to get the tents from Outdoor Retreat into the base game without buying the lame expansion. And it’s even easier than downloading a mod.
How to get tents in The Sims 4
Alright, get ready to have a fun camping night in the comfort of your own home complete with tents, yard sale tables, and other select items from the Oudoor Retreat pack.
First, go to the Gallery. In here, click “show base game” and then just type “tents.” Tents will pop up if you turn on the rooms filter. At this point, you can place the tents in your lot and use it however you’d like.
“Grab whatever tent you want. These are completely base game and they function just like any other tent in the The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat would,” said Mave Plays.
Even better, this is free entertainment! That’s right — it won’t cost any currency to use these varied tents and other items. This almost makes up for the lack of a new location to camp in. Seriously, no new residential area?
The Outdoor Retreat pack is an even bigger blow when you remember that The Sims 5 is likely not happening. If we’re gonna be stuck on The Sims 4, why not make the expansions and stuff a bit more exciting and in-depth? On the bright side, at least Nature’s Calling has been extended for another month.
Just be glad if you’re one of the lucky ones who didn’t pay $19.99 to camp in your backyard.
