Well, as we head into the weekend before we clock off for the night it’s time for the big news. Yes, the two newest kits for The Sims 4 are here, with Essential Glam and Grange Mudroom. What’re they all about? And should you buy them?
Well, let’s dig into what they include and find out!
Grange Mudroom
As we covered last week, a ‘mud room’ is basically a foyer, for coats, hats, boots etc. Essentially, anything muddy (geddit?) you’d wear outdoors. And while it’s quite an old-fashioned feature, you can now incorporate it into your Sim’s home in a fashionable, stylish way with Grange Mudroom.

Coming from creator Peacemaker ic, this kit features all new walls, flooring and decor as well as a suite of built-in items. Meant to embody a ‘transitional space’ this suite of new items means you’ll be able to make everything from a rustic ranch entryway to a swish and chich portal into your abode.
I’m especially fond of the new cupboards, hangers and coat racks. It feels a little bit more neat and tidy than the ‘straight out of Ikea’ type shoerack.
Essential Glam
On the opposite end of the spectrum, if your Sim is on the lookout for a night on the town we’ve got the Essential Glam kit. Want to look good? Want to look better? Want to look the best? Well, that’s where essential glam comes in.
Coming from Crypticsim, you know any creator who tries to tackle the ultra-glam look of the Queen Bee herself has some ambitious and truly glamorous looks for your Sim to sport. Featuring everything from new eyeshadow to foundation and lipstick, if you’re always looking for new spins on classic makeup combinations then this kit is for you.

While I’m no makeup guru, I think that these will undoubtedly help for the more fashion conscious Sims you might be playing. Admittedly, it might be a bit too fancy for many.
While quite niche, these kits are undoubtedly great for those of you wanting to experiment with the look of your home, and the look of your Sim. And if you want to build out your suite of creator content, then you’ll be glad to know you can find even more on The Sims Resource, especially by following our list of the best fairy-themed hairstyles!
