Simspiracy: Do calendars and numbering hint at new DLC?

With the Motherlode season now firmly behind us, it shouldn’t be surprising that Simmers are hungry for any news whatsoever about what’s coming next. But do calendars and numbering hint at new DLC?? Well, according to the latest Simspiracy sweeping the web, yes they can.

Numbers Game

As originally noted by users Anadius and EA partner Kimbasprite (collated in one place by Simstuber Pixelade, linked below) the main evidence for a major expansion pack coming soon is twofold. Anadius predicted that since the recently-released kits were numbered 96-98, and the upcoming expansion pack is labelled 99 we can expect that to be the next major release.

Kimbasprite, meanwhile, cited their 2025 Season of the Sims calendar and noted that March displayed the Thief prominently. Of course, March was when the Thief was re-added to The Sims 4, so the assumption is that the next month’s picture (of a Sims band) is a hint at the upcoming expansion pack.

So, a band expansion is on the way? Well, aside from the fact that nothing has been actually confirmed by EA themselves, there was one other crucial issue which appeared when I looked into this.

Calendar Man

Now, it seems the Season of the Sims calendar wasn’t a retail item and was sent directly to EA Partners as a promotional technique. On the one hand that certainly strengthens the argument that this could be intended to tease upcoming content. After all there’s no better way to foment a bit of community intrigue than to get content creators to do so for you.

But, on the other, there was only one Sim content creator, Sarah Simmer, who posted a full copy of the calendar which was different to the version we’ve seen. Assuming Sarah Simmers’ Calendar was part of the same drop, their version (posted back in January) does have the Thief shown in March, but for May they instead have an image of the Cowplant; which is already in The Sims 4. The band image cited by Kimbasprite is instead seeming placed in November for Sara Simmers’ copy.

I think it’s safe to assume that Anadius information about the next DLC being an expansion pack is fairly solid. However, the differences in calendar content could pour cold water on the prediction of a music-themed expansion. The different order of certain images does suggest that some are placed in the same place no matter who received the calendar, which could confirm the Thief placement was an intentional tease.

But either way, as with any prediction of upcoming content, it’s all a theory until there’s an official confirmation. In the meantime there’s still plenty to dig into about The Sims 4 and the recently-released kits!
