Did you ever want to play The Sims in real life? No, not like working and having babies and drowning in a pool. Like the actual game but not on a screen? If so, get ready for The Sims Board Game, the first time that franchise is leaving the digital world.
This board game is heavily focused on The Sims’ gameplay, with each player taking on a specific Sim and then fulfilling their aspirations and reaching their life goals.
The Sims in board game form seems alright

The Sims Board Game takes a lot of familiar locations, characters, and concepts from the video game franchise, with each player attempting to balance all of their Sim’s needs while reaching their large goal.
There are six locations on the board (chosen at random) and each of these locations include three interest icons and a need. Each Sim is given two rows of four action cards, eight in total, which will have to be completed.
At the start of the game, players draw two aspiration cards and choose one they’d like to focus on. A good strategy early on is to see if the two interest symbols on the aspiration card align with your Sim’s current action cards. To complete an aspiration you need to match three interest symbols.
Players can choose to stay in or go out (to one of the six locations), allowing you to select an action card that corresponds to the interest symbols on the location. Players can also take action cards from each other if they are in the same location, creating a bit of interaction.
While the board game is not as in-depth as the video game, which features plenty of expansions, mods, and storylines to keep you hooked for eternity, it has plenty of references for long-time fans of the franchise. This makes it a pretty enticing board game to add to the collection of long-time players and newcomers alike.
The reviews are currently mixed, with some players finding it a bit confusing and not similar enough to The Sims’ gameplay. Others, however, are happy to finally have multiplayer Sims.
The Sims Board Game is currently available in the United States for $19.99.
