Babies are innocent, helpless little things that don’t really do anything, but that’s exactly why some Simmers have expressed that they are the worst part of The Sims 4 experience.
One Simmer on Reddit was brave enough to admit what many probably feel is too mean to reveal: “When my sim is about to give birth, I stop playing with the household until the kid ages up to a child. The only reason I’ll come back to the household is if the mother needs to get impregnated again before the first kid has grown.
“It’s not a Sims 4 issue, I’m just really annoyed with the useless, miniature humans.”
It may sound harsh, but tons of players chimed in with similar sentiments.
Why do Sims 4 player hate babies?

After the Simmer confessed to hating babies, other players felt it was a safe space to admit that they also hated babies (in The Sims 4, of course). To deal with babies, some players hire butlers, others just use a cheat to age the child up, or change lifespans to fast-forward that stage of life. Others just turn the sound off.
In other words: GET THESE BABIES OUT OF MY FACE!
So why the hate?
One issue is that sims make terrible parents. It can be quite frustrating when your sim keeps placing the baby on the floor or not tending to its needs. At that point, you feel the need to continuously babysit not just the baby but the adult sim.
Another issue is that many players just find it unenjoyable and are not invested in the storylines that children create. Some Simmers are IRL parents and just don’t want to deal with babies in the game.
One fan noted that they used to hate toddlers until infants were introduced. Now, toddlers feel like a breath of fresh air.
Added another: “And infants (smaller toddlers) are just broken. They added the new life stage that grants NO life points, NO skill points, and glitches out the parents!
I told my sim to shower about 48194 times, and he just kept picking up the infant for some unknown reason. Then THAT made the toddler sister get a ‘forgotten child’ mood buff.”
Oh the joys of being a fake parent.
