Over the past few weeks, anticipation has been heightening for the next expansion coming to The Sims 4. Consequentially we’ve also seen an uptick in speculation around what said DLC could be, drawing on everything from early listings to possible teasers buried in calendars. What’s more likely? Well, let’s dig in and find out in our Sims 4 expansion speculation roundup.
The Calendar Theory
This is, of course, what I recently covered. The gist of it being that a calendar given out to certain Sims content creators contained clues about the upcoming expansions. The evidence for this being that the most recent calendar entry for March showed the Thief, which was added into The Sims 4 on that date. The speculation here is that the upcoming expansion may be band-related.

The Fairy Theory
According to some leaked listings on key reseller sites, a potential title for the expansion has been released called ‘Enchanted by Nature’ with many theorising that this could be related to the reintroduction of mechanics such as fairies. Some outlets claim these have been reliable in the past, and it would certainly be ‘out there’ enough to differentiate itself from more recent expansions.
The Rub
Overall, both are equally likely, but only because in this writer’s opinion that they’re both as vague as each other. The listing would seem to be the most likely, as listings on storefronts leaking remakes or upcoming releases has become something of a trend in recent years.
However, it’s important to note in that case that this is merely a key reseller site, not an ‘official’ storefront. So it’s entirely possible (if not improbable) that it could be a speculative listing itself. The calendar theory, therefore, presents itself as a little bit more likely.
But even then, the issue of differing versions of the calendar presents itself. It’s still entirely possible that the Thief being included was an intentional tease, but anything else is entirely circumstantial at this point.
Either way, whichever of these turns out to be true – or neither for that matter – we can expect that another expansion will be welcomed by players. Businesses & Hobbies has proven to be quite popular, but like many Sims 4 expansions has served to add many features some felt should have been there from the beginning.
Fortunately, while you wait there’s still plenty of other ways to up your Sims experience. Why not check out our guide on how to get started with modding The Sims 4?
