Discord users: there are some big community updates coming for The Sims 4.
We know, we know. You’re already reading news and chatting about The Sims 4 on various forums, underneath updates on X and other social media platforms, on Reddit, on our site too, of course. But Discord seems to be where a lot of new discussions will be happening thanks to some big updates.
The Sims 4 players urged to communicate with devs on Discord
Community Manager Shawnee recently told Discord server members that Sims Labs will now have its headquarters on Discord. This is the new platform of choice for sending feedback and ideas. It will also have playtest opportunities and surveys to fill out.
On August 27th, a new feedback forum opened on the Discord with two threads. The first thread is a permanent gameplay feedback thread. Simmers are encouraged to share what’s working, what’s not working, and what improvements they want to see to the gameplay experience. Warning: Don’t post any bugs!

The second thread is only there until September 10th. It’s focused on the Sims 4 Gallery. Players are encouraged to discuss ideas to improve the Gallery’s search and other features. After September 10th, it’ll be Read Only.
Then, in late September, two more permanent threads will go live. These will be regarding CAS and Build/Buy, two popular discussion points.
This community update had pretty mixed reviews from The Sims 4 community. Some like the idea because the Discord is quite active and this could bring all the chatter to one place. However, others feel that they have already been pretty vocal under posts on other social platforms and forums, raising their frustration with developers. Another platform to communicate? Will this be ignored too?
Said one frustrated fan: “[lol] Sure, I always wanted to spend my limited time to share feedback and ideas so EA can ignore them. They didn’t care for us on Twitter and in the Forums, why should they care on Discord? I might as well tell those feedback things to myself while playing Sims and drowning in bugs.”
