Indie life sim Paralives gets official release date and new trailer

A still from Paralives showing four Parafolk hanging out in a mostly packed, cluttered flat. There are two parafolk on the left dancing, plus two lounging on the bed. A sofa with a cartoon cushion is at the front.

Paralives Studio shared some big news about their much-anticipated life sim, Paralives, over at the PC Gaming Show 2025. After six years of development, we have a release date announcement, alongside a shiny new trailer teasing some pretty exciting features.

Paralives is set to enter early access on 8th December, 2025. The simulator will launch directly to Steam with both PC and Mac compatibility. You can wishlist it right now to get notified as soon as it comes out. It’s exclusively set for Steam right now, with no plans to take it to console or mobile.

What to expect from Paralives’ Early Access

After their presentation, they also shared some more details over on their Patreon on what to expect on launch, from gameplay features to pledge rewards. The post also shares some insight into their plans for updates during the title’s Early Access.

A few things we can look forward to during Paralives’ Early Access include:

And a lot more. The roadmap is ambitious and massively promising – personally, I can’t wait to see how the open-world system pans out.

Say goodbye to expensive expansions and DLC

Something that makes all of these promised features so exciting is that it’s all included in the price – and always will be. Paralives’ devs have confirmed that they’ll never release any paid-for DLC, neither during Early Access nor after the full release. What you pay when you buy the game will be all you pay ever.

In the Patreon post sharing the release date and trailer, they explain how they came to this decision:

As a reminder, during Early Access and after, the game will only ever get free updates and expansions and will never have any paid DLCs. This decision stems from the fact that, as life simulation fans ourselves, we believe that players deserve a complete experience when purchasing a game. Since we are a small independent team, the sales from the base game will be enough to sustain the development of exciting new features and content for Paralives.

Paralives will cost $39.99 USD when it drops in December. This price will only be available during the Early Access window, before increasing after the full launch. So, if you plan on picking it up, you’re better off getting it sooner rather than later.
