The customisation options are undoubtedly one of the biggest appeals to the Sims 4 gameplay. Players are able to customise not just their Sims’ everyday clothing, but also their specialised outfits for different scenarios and occasions, such as athletic wear, winter clothing, pyjamas and sleepwear, party outfits, and of course…work clothes!
However, as the in-game days tick on, many players will find themselves wanting to change the outfit that their Sim wears in the workplace. If you find yourself in the same boat, then fortunately, there is a very easy way to edit the work outfit for any of your Sims.
This can be achieved in just a few simple steps, each of which has been outlined in the guide below.
How to change work clothes in The Sims 4

Thankfully for eager Sims enthusiasts, the work clothes of your household members can be changed with the use of the command console cheats. A complete step-by-step breakdown of how to toggle this on and then how to execute the command for editing work clothes has been included below:
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + C on your keyboard
- type “testingcheats on” into the text box that appears, and press enter. This will toggle cheats on and enable you to edit many aspects of your game
- Now, select the Sim whose work clothes you would like to edit
- Once the Sim has been selected, type and enter “sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas” into the command text box
- This should take you into the Sims customization menu, Create-A-Sim, or “CAS” for short
Once players have arrived in the CAS menu, they will be able to edit the clothing of their Sim as they would like. While the standard CAS menu enables players to edit any of the outfits toggled to their Sims, this specific command targets only their work outfit.
This way, players can be sure that their Sim will gain an updated look for their go-to outfit in the workplace. All you will need to do from here is simply browse the catalogues of available items to build your custom look. Alternatively, you can also just select one of the preset outfits, as there are plenty of options for different jobs.
Or heck, if you want your Sim to wear a clown outfit to work, that is also a possibility, too…
