The Sims 4 CC: 8 Best Plant Clutter For Green-Thumbed Simmers

A green PlantSim in The Sims 4 seen from behind, running around in nature in Henford-on-Baggley. A pink sun hangs in the sky and a chicken coop and cottage can be seen.

Is a home really a home if it doesn’t have enough plants to create a full-on ecosystem? I mean, probably, but not when it comes to building in The Sims, the more foliage the better.

Bringing a little bit of nature into your builds is a nice way of boosting your Sims’ environments while showing off some personality. There are a fair number of plants spread out across all the different kits and Expansion Packs for The Sims 4 now, but living up to the natural diversity of plants in the real world is a tough task.

Thankfully, creative custom content creators have been hard at work filling in the gaps to grow your collection of greenery in your games. Okay, I’ll turn a new leaf and stop with the plant puns now. Sorry.

Orbita Study Plant

Five plants from the Orbital plant set by Simcredible designs on The Sims Resource. Three spider plants in flat round planters are on the right in gold, black, and silver, and on the left are two round planters - one gold, one silver - with white and pink flowers.

These cute plants are designed to bring a little life to your Sims’ study spaces. It comes as a pair, with a stripey snake plant and some smaller pastel flowers. They come as part of a set of other desktop decor and clutter for study spaces, like a calendar, pen pots, and a nice set of books.

Plants Collection 2

A large selection of plants in The Sims 4 made by Simenapule. Large ferns, philodendrons, and caladiums, and tall grasses are all visible in shades of green and pink.

This huge pack of shrubs could quickly turn your Sims’ homes into Jungle Adventures (get it?) with big, beautiful philodendrons, caladiums, ferns, and tall grasses. One of the best parts of this set is that it comes packed with a couple of different decor types, including large standing plants, tabletop clutter, and hanging baskets. It comes with a few different swatches, too, making it easy to mix and match your decor.

Verdant Escape Plants

Six plants varying from tiny to huge on a white background. There's a tall cactus, two small-medium cacti (one with an orange flower), a leafy green rubber plant, a twisted grass, and a hanging ivy draped over a pot. They're made by ELCC.

The whole set of Verdant Escape flora is fantastic, but the ivy (which is linked above) especially caught my eye. I love the way it kind of creeps down the side of the pot like a hanging plant. The cacti from the same set are also super cute, and add a much-needed spikey flair to builds.

Millennial – Hanging plant

Four hanging plants, three blurred out and one very clear. They're all ceramic pots in different shades of blue hung from cream macramé. They're all small green plants, with the one of the left hanging droopy green leaves that hang over the side of the pot.

Although I’m not sure exactly what makes it millennial, this macramé hanging plant (and the other plants in the same range) is adorable and just small enough to squeeze into tight corners. Because this one’s so small, it’s perfect for tiny homes. Also, you might also recognise the name Syboubou from the Sleek Bathroom Kit and the Syboulette artist bundle collaboration with TheSimsResource

Plantera Plant Set

The Plantera pots and plants set made by Komu for The Sims Resource displaying a bunch of trees, cacti, shrubs, lettuce, fruit trees, and planters of different sizes made of wood and pottery or metal.

Something super special about the Plantera Plant Set is that the plants and pots all come separately, so you can make a huge number of different combinations depending on your needs. Coming packed with agave, cacti, fruit trees, and lavender, this set fits particularly nicely into greenhouses and conservatories. The huge leafy fig tree is a real highlight.

Monarch Butterfly House (with Animated Butterflies!)

Three plantpots in a row with little mushroom 'houses' on them, green plants, and terracotta 'steps'. Loads of large orange monarch butterflies are circling them. It's on a green, grassy background. They're made by Naunakht.

This one was way too cute to leave out. This tiny cottagecore planter is covered in foliage, surrounding a tiny set of stairs that lead up to a little mushroom house seemingly occupied by a family of monarch butterflies. My favourite part is that it comes with a new set of interactions so your Sims can watch and talk to their new butterfly buddies. It’s just all so wholesome.

Face Hanging Plant 01

Five planters hanging on a wall, all in the same design in different colours. They're smiling planters with little hands and legs, as well as smiling faces. They have some kind of grass in them that looks like aloe vera. They're sat on swings. They're made by Violl.

Another adorable entry for the list is this smiley little hanging plant made by Violl. His little face looks so serene and at peace with hanging out on his swing in a way that I just can’t resist. It comes in five different colours, including neutral beiges and greys, as well as a couple of brighter colours, making it a nice fit for a variety of colour schemes.

Peperomia Argyreia

Four green plants with rubbery striped leaves and purple stems in modern pots. From left to right, they're grey marble, white ceramic, gold ceramic, green ceramic. There's a blue wall in the back and a wooden floor underneath. They're made by Pitted0live.

The Peperomia Argyreia immediately caught my eye because it’s so realistic looking, and because it’s based on such a niche plant. I’m a bit of a plant nerd myself, so I love seeing some deep cuts finding their place in Sims’ homes. These rubbery, stripey plants offer some nice patterns and textures to your tabletops, and the plant pots themselves are pretty sleek and stylish too.
