Is a home really a home if it doesn’t have enough plants to create a full-on ecosystem? I mean, probably, but not when it comes to building in The Sims, the more foliage the better.
Bringing a little bit of nature into your builds is a nice way of boosting your Sims’ environments while showing off some personality. There are a fair number of plants spread out across all the different kits and Expansion Packs for The Sims 4 now, but living up to the natural diversity of plants in the real world is a tough task.
Thankfully, creative custom content creators have been hard at work filling in the gaps to grow your collection of greenery in your games. Okay, I’ll turn a new leaf and stop with the plant puns now. Sorry.

These cute plants are designed to bring a little life to your Sims’ study spaces. It comes as a pair, with a stripey snake plant and some smaller pastel flowers. They come as part of a set of other desktop decor and clutter for study spaces, like a calendar, pen pots, and a nice set of books.
Plants Collection 2

Simenapule | The Sims Resource | Download |
This huge pack of shrubs could quickly turn your Sims’ homes into Jungle Adventures (get it?) with big, beautiful philodendrons, caladiums, ferns, and tall grasses. One of the best parts of this set is that it comes packed with a couple of different decor types, including large standing plants, tabletop clutter, and hanging baskets. It comes with a few different swatches, too, making it easy to mix and match your decor.
Verdant Escape Plants

The whole set of Verdant Escape flora is fantastic, but the ivy (which is linked above) especially caught my eye. I love the way it kind of creeps down the side of the pot like a hanging plant. The cacti from the same set are also super cute, and add a much-needed spikey flair to builds.
Millennial – Hanging plant

Syboubou | The Sims Resource | Download |
Although I’m not sure exactly what makes it millennial, this macramé hanging plant (and the other plants in the same range) is adorable and just small enough to squeeze into tight corners. Because this one’s so small, it’s perfect for tiny homes. Also, you might also recognise the name Syboubou from the Sleek Bathroom Kit and the Syboulette artist bundle collaboration with TheSimsResource.
Plantera Plant Set

K-omu | The Sims Resource | Download |
Something super special about the Plantera Plant Set is that the plants and pots all come separately, so you can make a huge number of different combinations depending on your needs. Coming packed with agave, cacti, fruit trees, and lavender, this set fits particularly nicely into greenhouses and conservatories. The huge leafy fig tree is a real highlight.
Monarch Butterfly House (with Animated Butterflies!)

Naunakht | The Sims Resource | Download |
This one was way too cute to leave out. This tiny cottagecore planter is covered in foliage, surrounding a tiny set of stairs that lead up to a little mushroom house seemingly occupied by a family of monarch butterflies. My favourite part is that it comes with a new set of interactions so your Sims can watch and talk to their new butterfly buddies. It’s just all so wholesome.
Face Hanging Plant 01

Violl | The Sims Resource | Download |
Another adorable entry for the list is this smiley little hanging plant made by Violl. His little face looks so serene and at peace with hanging out on his swing in a way that I just can’t resist. It comes in five different colours, including neutral beiges and greys, as well as a couple of brighter colours, making it a nice fit for a variety of colour schemes.
Peperomia Argyreia

The Peperomia Argyreia immediately caught my eye because it’s so realistic looking, and because it’s based on such a niche plant. I’m a bit of a plant nerd myself, so I love seeing some deep cuts finding their place in Sims’ homes. These rubbery, stripey plants offer some nice patterns and textures to your tabletops, and the plant pots themselves are pretty sleek and stylish too.
