Simoleons are what every Sim needs, and in many cases want. With them, you can nab all that new furniture, take a well-earned break when Adventure Awaits, redecorate – and even rebuild – your house from the ground up, or just take part in the many activities gated off by Simoleons.
But what’s the Hail Mary option for winning Simoleons in The Sims 4? Well, none other than the Lottery, of course!
Where EVERYONE’s a winner!
Now, there’re a lot of guides out there that already tell you all about the lottery, so I won’t just copy-paste. So first, here’s the very basics:
- The Lottery is a holiday that allows Sims to purchase tickets for 100 Simoleons, limited to one per Sim
- Winners are announced the next day, with the grand prize being one-million Simoleons.
- The winning Sim gains the Dazed moodle from the win, and it can grant you a milestone achievement
Is there a guaranteed way to win the lottery?
No.
I mean, it’s the lottery for crying out loud!
Alright, so there are some ways to game the system, but only slightly. Larger households can have a greater chance at winning since each Sim can buy a ticket. And according to some info floating around, it’s possible to just marry the winning Sim, divorce them and take a chunk of the money (you gold-digger, you).
When it was previously introduced in The Sims 3 there was actually an ability to jump forward in time to Oasis Landing since it came with the Into The Future expansion. You could pull a Biff Tannen and check the lottery records to grant yourself an increased (but not guaranteed) chance to win. There were even differing levels of prizes rather than just the jackpot!
Unfortunately, for the moment no matter how smart, cunning or unscrupulous your Sim is, there’s no way to consistently win the lottery in The Sims 4. It’s effectively pure chance, just like the real thing.
Well, unless you use mods (at your own risk). But you wouldn’t do something as sneaky as that, right…?
