You may’ve seen Toni cover it already, but we’ve recently finally had a break after a long dry spell of news. And while it may not be as massive as a new expansion, the revelation that we can expect a whole lot of stuff for Sim Your Summer is exciting. Doubly so because The Sims Freeplay is set to Make a Splash with its upcoming summer update!
Now, I think it’s patently obvious what this update is all about. Summer and pools go together like, well, two things that go really well together. But you may recall that pools are already a thing in The Sims Freeplay. Which leaves us with two options: either we’re going to get a massive update to this; or it’ll be something else entirely.
What’s in the water?
Now, for the former it certainly wouldn’t be unusual for us to get a number of new pool types, and maybe various decorations and cosmetics to liven things up. Outdoor stuff like barbecues could tie into it, and it’d all fit the overall summer theming pretty well. However, unless it’s thoroughly jam-packed with new stuff I could see this being disappointing for fans.
But, there’s also another option. The Beach. Yes, that’s also in The Sims Freeplay, and it could very well be that we’ll finally get a bit more attention to this location in Make a Splash. Perhaps more activities, or maybe even one of those neat ‘at home beaches’ with its own sand, assuming I didn’t just imagine that. Maybe it’d be both, we’ll just have to keep our eyes open.
So, Sims Freeplay set to Make a Splash with upcoming summer update, but until we know more it’s only sure that it’s water-related. Either way, for those of you wanting a little bit of summer fun in The Sims Freeplay this update does promise some interesting additions. And with the recently-released Enhanced Lighting Update, I’m sure that water’ll look better than ever!
